Artwork Requirements
If you are using your own computer artwork, please follow the instructions below to avoid possible delays in proofing time. If you are unable to follow the technical instructions below, send us what you have anyway and we’ll take it from there.
• The following file formats are preferred in order of preference:
1. Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
2. Adobe PostScript (.eps)
3. Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
4. Adobe Photoshop (.psd)
5. Microsoft Word (.doc)
6. Microsoft Publisher (.pub)
7. Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt)
8. Windows Metafile (.wmf)
9. Enhanced Metafile (.emf)
10. Bitmap/Raster Images (.jpg, .bmp, .tif, .gif, .png)
If your file type is not listed above, send it and we’ll try to use it anyway.
• Bitmap/Raster images must be at a resolution of 300 dpi at the required size. Images copied off the web are unacceptable as they are at 72 dpi. This does not include downloaded images.
• Convert all text to outlines.
• Use CMYK color mode (we do not use RGB mode or spot colors).
• If your artwork contains colors from the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM®, please specify the colors in writing (not in the artwork file itself). Please note that we only guarantee PANTONE® 4 color CMYK process colors using the PANTONE® color bridge™ on coated stock.
• Embed all images.
• Do not merge or flatten layers. Keep layers seperated.
• We do not recommend using borders in your artwork. If the cut line is slightly shifted in the manufacturing process, the artwork may appear off-centre.
• Please see the image below for bleed and gutter specifications.
